Video marketing in Kansas City

Know the audience, say one thing clearly, ask for the business. Then keep doing it: the plan, the shoots, the cuts for every platform and the publishing, carried by one crew.

What you get

Everything between the idea and the post

Tell us the goal. The list below is ours to carry, start to finish, so video is not one more hat you wear. Founded in 1997 by Brad Burrow, Real Media plans, shoots and promotes video from its own studio at 9101 Barton Street in Overland Park, Kansas, with a 2,000 sq ft green-screen stage.

Audit

Where the video you already have stands, and what it is doing for you.

Strategy and targeting

Who each video is for and what it has to do, agreed before anything is shot.

Script and direction

The message, written and directed so it says one thing clearly.

Production

The full shoot, in the studio or on site, with our crew.

Equipment

Green screen, lighting, sound: everything the day needs, and it is ours.

Edit and delivery

Cut, finished and delivered in the versions each platform needs.

Placement and promotion

Published where your audience already is, on a schedule, and measured.

Best practices

Consistency is the whole trick

Whatever the industry, one word decides whether a video marketing plan works. It shows up in three places.

Targeting

Each video is aimed at the right audience and shaped to what they care about, every time.

Production and quality

Made to one standard, then edited, produced and published on a schedule, not when there is time.

Promotion

Released on the same platforms each time: the same channels, the same lists. That is what gives you data you can read, and the long-term growth that comes from acting on it.

Digital media

Built for where it runs

One shoot, several destinations. Each cut is made for its platform, not resized on the way out.

Your website

The full piece, where a visitor has the time for it: the home page, the product page, the page that explains the thing. Delivered at the size and length the page needs.

Social

Vertical and square cuts, shorter and captioned, made for the feed rather than resized for it. Most of it is watched with the sound off, so the picture and the words carry it.

Broadcast and streaming

Thirty- and fifteen-second spots cut to the station’s spec, and the same cut for streaming and pre-roll. The Cates spot, pictured, ran on television; the web loops are the other end of the same craft.

The number

How much does video marketing cost in Kansas City?

On average, from $1,200 to $50,000 or more per video. Platform, content and creative direction all move the number, and a marketing plan is several videos over time: produced, distributed and measured. We quote it in writing, before anything is booked.

Where you stand

Start with what you already have

Before a campaign, an audit of the video you have and what it is doing. The questionnaire takes about six minutes; we come back within two days with where you stand and the steps from there.

The team was very accommodating and so nice to work with. I always felt supported. They were really able to lock into our vision, capture our goofy playfulness, but also in a professional manner.Megan BurtchMerchandising Manager, Redemption Plus

Questions

What people ask before they start

Straight answers. Where the honest answer is a quote, we say so.

Video marketing is using video to promote what you sell: on your website, on social, in email and on air. Promos, product demos, testimonials, how-to pieces, training and recruiting films all count. At Real Media, one crew carries the plan, the shoots, the cuts for each platform and the publishing.

A video typically takes two to eight weeks from script to delivery, depending on length and complexity. Scripting, filming, editing and revisions all sit in that window. For a programme of several videos, the work is scheduled up front so the dates are known before production starts.

Most marketing videos run one to two minutes: long enough to say the thing, short enough to be watched to the end. Social cuts run shorter, and a broadcast spot is thirty seconds or fifteen. Each cut is made for the platform it runs on, not resized on the way out.

Real Media makes promotional videos, product and service demonstrations, testimonials and client stories, informative and how-to content, and training and recruiting films. Most programmes use three or four of these, cut from the same shoots. Each one is planned around where it will be watched.

Often, yes. The audit looks at what you have and how it is performing, then we tell you what to reuse, what to recut and what to make new. Start with the questionnaire; it takes about six minutes.

Yes. We can produce videos in multiple languages for the audiences that need them.

Real Media handles video marketing from idea to post: an audit of the video you have, strategy and targeting, script and direction, production in our Overland Park studio or on site, editing and delivery in the versions each platform needs, then placement and promotion on a schedule, measured. One crew carries the whole list.
