HomeVideo production

Video production services in Kansas City

From concept to completion, and not just pretty pictures. Audience, message and the ask: that is what we do, and it is what the finished video is judged on.

The reel

Made to be watched

Understand the audience and speak to them in a voice they recognize. Say the one thing clearly. Ask for the business. Two minutes of what that looks like.

What we make

Five kinds of video, one crew

Founded in 1997, Real Media makes promotional, product, testimonial, how-to and training video for businesses across Kansas City, with one crew from the plan to the final cut. We shoot on location or at our own studio at 9101 Barton Street in Overland Park, Kansas, with a 2,000 sq ft green-screen stage. Most projects are one of these; some are two or three cut from the same shoot.

Promotional videos

A first impression, a product launch, an event, a customer story: the short piece that earns attention where your audience already is. Written for the platform it runs on, not resized for it. See video marketing.

Product and demo videos

The product in use, filmed so a buyer who cannot pick it up understands it anyway. Useful on the product page, in the sales deck and in the follow-up email.

Testimonials and client stories

Real customers, on camera, unscripted. We run the whole production so what comes back is ready to share, and credible because nobody was reading a line.

How-to and informative

Clear explanations with pictures that do the work: for prospects learning what you do, and for customers who already bought and need the next step.

Training and recruiting

Onboarding, safety, culture, open roles. The videos a company uses every week, made so they hold up to being watched by every new hire. See corporate video production.

Questions

What people ask before they book

Straight answers. Where the honest answer is a quote, we say so.

Price depends on the number of shoot days, locations, crew and the finish you need, which move it more than the length of the video does. Tell us the goal and where it will run, and we quote it properly, in writing, before anything is booked.

The schedule is agreed before we start. A single interview edit is quicker than a multi-location brand film; both get dates on the calendar before a camera moves, and you see the cut early rather than once at the end.

The goal, the audience, where the video will run and a date you are working to. If you have a script, brand guidelines or past videos, send them. If you have none of that, that is what the first conversation is for.

Usually, yes. Script and storyboard are part of the plan, and settling the story before the shoot day is what keeps the production on track. If you already have one, we will read it and give you an honest opinion.

Yes. A good deal of our work is shot on location, in Kansas City and beyond, with the same crew, lighting and sound. Our Overland Park stage and sets are there when the location does not exist or the weather does not cooperate.

RED 8K and 6K cinema cameras with Zeiss prime lenses, drone footage, a recording studio designed by Steven Durr Designs, and a virtual studio with Unreal Engine. The gear is chosen for the job; the crew is what makes the difference.

You see the edit as it takes shape rather than once at the end, so formal rounds stay few. The number of rounds is agreed in the quote, so nobody is surprised once the edit is underway and the cut starts to come together.

Every format the video actually runs on. A broadcast spot, a landscape cut for the website and vertical versions for social are different edits, not different exports, and we size each one properly. Captions are included, so every file is ready to publish where it runs.

Yes. Our studio is at 9101 Barton Street in Overland Park, Kansas, with a 2,000 sq ft green-screen stage, Unreal Engine virtual sets and a recording studio designed by Steven Durr Designs. We use it when a location does not exist or the weather does not cooperate, and shoot on location the rest of the time.
