Home/Recording studio
Designed and built by Steven Durr Designs of Nashville, for audio that works on any platform, from a cell phone to a sports arena. Film, broadcast, radio, web and social.
The rooms
Three rooms that make one studio, with the figures a producer needs.
Where the session is heard: Yamaha HS8 near field monitors in stereo or 5.1 surround and large format ADAM speakers for impact. The screens for picture and the desk in front of them. Isolated tracking rooms so voice and the instrument each get a room of their own. The ultimate isolation.
An Avid C24 control surface into Pro Tools Ultimate, with Pro Tools Carbon and two MOTU 8M interfaces behind it. An extensive plugin collection supports the room — for shaping and sweetening mixes, and for repairing problem audio when a location recording needs rescuing. Automated dialogue replacement and film and video sync run from the same chair, so a line can be re-recorded against the cut and locked to the frame.
Four 4K PTZ cameras switched live to a master with vMix — a finished program as it happens, not an assembly job afterwards. All in a dedicated podcast studio with four RODE Pro dynamic microphones. Audio or video, recorded and edited here live.
